Synology DP340 Backup Appliance Expansion Unit (Authorized Goods)
Authorized Goods · Hong Kong
The Synology DP340 is an expansion unit for Synology's ActiveProtect backup appliance line. It is a desktop unit that attaches to an already-deployed Synology backup host and is managed through DSM, so you extend backup storage without standing up a second management interface. For Hong Kong SMEs and branch offices already running ActiveProtect, that means adding capacity as backup volumes grow instead of over-buying up front.
Stocked here as Authorized Goods. Supported host models, drive compatibility and maximum expansion figures should always be confirmed against Synology's official specifications and compatibility list.
Positioning
DP340 is an expansion unit for the ActiveProtect backup stack, built to grow the backup storage pool rather than run standalone as a NAS. A fit for Hong Kong offices that already have a Synology backup host.
Key Specs
Desktop form factor, managed via DSM on the connected Synology host, so there is no separate console to learn. Drive count, interfaces and compatibility follow the official list.
Use Cases
SMEs whose backup data keeps growing and whose host is running out of room, or branch offices that want centralised backups without a large upfront spend.
Buying Notes
Check that your Synology host model is on the official compatibility list before ordering, and budget for drives and rack/desk space. Authorized Goods; warranty per manufacturer terms.
